I'm sure you're asking why there is a book cover by Rebecca Kent on my website.  The answer is simple.  Rebecca Kent is Kate Kingsbury.  My new series, set in an Edwardian finishing school in England, will be on the shelves in June and will be written under my new name. 

The Bellehaven House mysteries feature Meredith Llewellyn, the headmistress, and her two cohorts,  the no-nonsense, dry-witted Felicity Cross, and  timid, ex-socialite, Esmerelda Pickard.  Not to mention a very unusual ghost.

I hope you enjoy the Bellehaven mysteries as much as you enjoy the Pennyfoot gang.  You will find the same humor, warmth and fun characters as in my other series, so please give Rebecca Kent a chance.  I can promise she won't disappoint you.

 

Many years ago I used to make and sell soft toys in bazaars.  A special project of mine was a set of stuffed mice...all dressed in Edwardian clothes.   Their legs were kind of spindly, and I couldn't get them to stand up.   So I sewed a penny into each foot to balance them.  I called them the Pennyfoot mice.

Many of my characters were inspired by those mice... so when it came time to name the hotel...what could be better than the Pennyfoot Hotel!

 

I'm happy to say that I have finished the Pennyfoot Hotel book for this Christmas, 2008.  It's called RINGING IN MURDER, and I'll be posting the cover as soon as I have the finished copy.  This one has an interesting murder weapon... one I've never seen anyone use before.  I'll tell you more when we get closer to November, the release date!

I'm currently working on the second Bellehaven mysteries book, and having fun with it.  I hope you do, too!
